Good Bye To Summer Vacation September 2, 2013
Today it seems is the last day of summer, at least summer vacation. As I think about all that has happened in my summer, it has added up to be quite busy in fact. I went from Daniel's graduation, to wedding planning, to wedding, then planning for the fall schedule of Women's ministry, to working on my husband Daniel's and mine visas to Brazil, and planning our trip to Argentina, to enjoying the last rays of sunshine over Lake Washington tonight from Denny Park. So sad to see this part of the year fade back into the busyness of fall. It's been a great summer all in all. I have no complaints. I have loved every minute of the wonderful sunshine, and heat. I have enjoyed fresh veggies from the garden, picnics with family, a trip to Victoria BC with my mother, took a step back in time as I went and celebrated my aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary. I was the flower girl in the wedding, so I enjoyed looking at the old photos of me, and catching up with distant family members that I maybe only see once a year. I was excited to sell a bunch of wedding stuff from my daughters weddings that had accumulated in the garage (still more to go), and cleaning out the attic a bit. I have had walks on the beach, time at the swimming pool, and lazy days of reading books.
Now it is time to really jump back in to women's ministry work almost full time even though there have been bits of it almost every day of summer.
I have been planning, praying, delegating, arranging, for women's ministry all summer long in fact. Fall has never been far from my mind. I am so thankful for the gals who have stepped up and said they want to teach this year. It is such a blessing to know that there are those God has gifted with this wonderful ability to teach. So a big thank you goes out to Pastor Lori, Lisa, Elaine, Teresa, Jodi, Becky and Phyllis! and then the rest of us who help on the side lines-Laura and myself, Sherrill, Kara and others who have volunteered their time this summer. Thank you Arlette and Shannon! Women's Ministry would not happen without everyone working together and cooperating! All of these women are such special blessings in my life!
Women's Ministry has an awesome fall line up for studies that you can do.
The Book of Acts being taught by Phyllis Robertson on Thursday mornings at 9:30am,
Becoming More Than a Good Bible Study Girl-taught by Pastor Lori on Thursday mornings at 8:45am, Sacred Secrets taught by Jodi Allen Wednesday Mornings-8:45am Gideon taught by Becky Smith at the NSCP campus-9:30am and Nehemiah on Wednesday nights at 7PM.
For extra circular activities we have the Patchwork Remedy Quilt group on Wed. nights @7pm and one Wed. night a month the Knitting for the Lamb group.
Coffee Chat will occur 2 Sunday nights a month September thru November in the Cafe 4:30pm-5:45pm.
We also have the NWWC (Northwest Women's Conference) coming to Cedar Park church September 27, 28.
So there will be a full Fall schedule going on and any lady can have a part in it!
I am looking forward to seeing all that fall will bring in fellowship and friendships.
Be watching for more in the months ahead as Daniel and I go on our missions trip to Brazil and Argentina. We covet your prayers for sure!
Blessings to all.

Introduction to the new Women's ministry blogsite!
| Cedar Springs Christian Retreat Center |
Welcome to the new site for the Women's ministry news. Facebook will be closing, and this will be the new place to follow what it happening. It will also allow for you to respond if you wish. So be watching for new things coming for the summer. I thought I would start the page off with the journey leading up to the Spring Retreat at Cedar Springs Christian Retreat Center. The location of the first retreat under my leadership. This truly has been a God thing from the very beginning. When the leadership team began to talk about what would be a good time to have a retreat if it were possible, the weekend of April 26,27 and 28th, 2013 came up. This was back in August of 2012. So with that in mind, we went about our business as usual and waited. I knew from the past that there was a 5 year waiting list for this camp and the chances of us even getting to go to the camp were almost nill. But God... I just love that 2 word statement! It says so much. But God...He has the ability to make things happen. Who would have guessed that in the January time frame, the people from Cedar Springs called to say they had a cancellation. And...for the exact weekend that all of the leadership team said that they would be able to attend! I had a week to make a decision, so I emailed everyone, and got the go ahead. But God...He had in mind for us to be together for this weekend. To retreat from the outside world for the most part and come away and be refreshed in His presence. His "Finishing Touch" on our lives to be explored. Not to say that He is done with us yet, but that He is the artist, and Hisdesign for us, is the finishing touch. So this is what the weekend Retreat is all about. God's Master Touch, the Finishing Touch on our lives! Our former Women's Ministry Leader Colleen Nordlund will be leading us, and worship will be lead by Lisa Putnam! After the weekend, Lord willing, I will post some pictures and tell more about the whole weekend.
I am so looking forward to being able to really post thoughts and ideas on this page.
Be watching also for this summer. I plan to add some new things on to the page and we will see what happens!
Blessings~
